Lebanese Youth SEEK (Strengthening Employability and Enhancing Knowledge) Jobs is a project funded by the U.S. –Middle East Partnership Initiative, a program of the United States Government that seeks to strengthen civil society and promote stability in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region. This unique project exemplifies the progress that can be made with private sector involvement in development programs. SEEK will train 125 youth in important technical and life skills needed to compete in the labor market and become productive participants in society in coordination with the technical schools to complement their work and help students in practical training. This will be accomplished by increasing youth employability by building their capacities in response to labor market demands and educating local employers about the importance of investing in workforce capacities as a way to increase morale and professionalize their business missions. The project will address the socio-economic challenges affecting Tripoli’s youth by securing the placement of 75 individuals in local jobs thanks to cooperation from Roadster Diner, Zaatar W Zeit and other businesses.
