In the framework of the memorandum of understanding agreed between the British Embassy in Lebanon and Safadi Foundation, a seminar on zoonosis and diagnosis of some animals infections diseases has been held in Eddeh – Batroun on the 21st of February, 2004. In his welcome speech, Dr. Hussein samad, coordinator, explained the agricultural policy of Safadi Foundation and its plans to pulfill in Northern Lebanon. Two presentation have been given after words. In the first one, Dr. Mustafa Mestom talked about current zoonoses in Lebanon, especially brucellosis and eradication of his disease causing much public health concerns and losses in animals. In the second presentation, Dr. Nabil Ghosh gave a classification for animal diseases and their causal agents (viruses, bacteria, parasites and fongi). Foot and Month disease and Mastitis are the most important in Lebanon and cause much losses in clirestock.
